How to get to the exhibition in China, if the borders are closed

Elena owns a lingerie store in Kyiv. Every spring, she tried to travel abroad to find exclusive suppliers for her business.

But 2020 has made its adjustments. Now the Chinese hold thematic exhibitions where suppliers demonstrate their assortment, but it is still impossible to fly to events from Ukraine.

Situation

There was a significant lingerie exhibition in China just around the corner. Elena wanted to prepare for the season and expand her assortment. That's why she contacted our company. After thinking, Maxim, the head of the purchasing department, suggested: "what if our Chinese inspector goes to the exhibition and collects all the necessary information?". It seemed like a good way out. Inspectors go to warehouses and factories to check the goods. Why can't they do the same at the exhibition?

The problem is to

Get a tech assignment from the client. Find out what models of underwear they need to find, clarify the details of the cut, material, etc. Instruct the inspector and send him to the exhibition. In the end, to prepare a report with photos of goods and contacts of manufacturers. .

The solution to the problem
Stage 1

Elena collected her wishes into a technical task, which she handed to Maxim, a procurement specialist. He, for his part, contacted our Chinese inspector, told him details of his mission, and arranged tickets for the exhibition.

Stage 2

When the inspector was on site, he contacted Maxim to clarify the issues in the process and not to stray from the path.

Stage 3

Our Chinese inspector collected contacts from suppliers at the exhibition that matched Elena's requirements. He photographed their assortment so that she could clearly see what products they offer.

Stage 4

The inspector and Maxim prepared a detailed report with factory contacts and product photos and handed it over to the client.

Final result
  • Elena received contacts of trusted suppliers. It may not be the same as going to an exhibition and seeing everything in person, but a good way out under the circumstances.
  • From the report, she selected the factories whose assortment interested her and contacted them directly. Didn't waste time searching for goods and unnecessary communication.
  • It cost the client $230. Elena received the report the next day after the event. The cost of such a service varies. It depends on the specifics of the product to be checked and the location of the event.
